When you're hiking, biking, motorcycling, mountain climbing, skiing, skating, horseback riding, or just going out for pizza with friends, your heated jacket won't stay clean all the time. Sometimes, your favorite heated jacket needs a "bath."
But at this point you might worry that if you "bath" your jacket, its heating element will stop working. Because, we all understand that cable lines are generally not compatible with water.
So, can we wash the heated jacket?
The answer is yes. You can wash your heated jacket with confidence as long as you follow the instructions below, taking particular care to follow all the steps in order.
How to wash a heated jacket:
1. Disconnect the battery of rechargeable heated jackets and remove it
This is one of the most important steps, and if handled incorrectly, it can cause damage to the battery and affect the use of the rechargeable heated jacket. It is very important to remove the rechargeable battery from clothing as it is not waterproof. So make sure you have removed it before proceeding to the next step.
2. Return the heated jacket connector cord to its original position and close the pocket zipper
You want to keep the power cord secure, so once you take the battery out of the heating jacket or electric heated vest, you have to put the connector power cord back in and zip it up. This will protect it during washing.
3. Put the heated jacket in the mesh laundry bag
The heating power cord is fragile and requires extra attention. We recommend that you wash it in a mesh laundry bag.
4. Machine wash
When machine washing the heated jacket, remember not to use bleach, which can damage the heated jacket.
5. Let it dry
Do not twist or squeeze the heated jacket with excessive force, and do not use the dryer. Just hang your clothes in a cool, ventilated place and wait for them to dry naturally.
